Welcome.
Music and writing have been big things in my life for a long, long time. This site draws these interests together with a view to making my output available to the rest of the world.
In the Music & Lyrics section I've included some tracks which I wrote and recorded myself. I used a very basic setup of my voice, an acoustic guitar and a standard tape deck to record these. The tracks were then transferred to a PC where I cleaned them up a bit (to remove hiss, correct speed, etc) before adding a few effects and background noises. To these I've added some stuff that I composed from an assortment of loops and effects using Sony's ACID Music Studio software.
The Writing section of the site focuses on stuff I've battered out on either a typewriter or word processor. There you'll find samples, snippets and scraps of these pieces as well as some ebooks which I am making available for free.
I've also been collecting and trading live recordings on-line (and occasionally off-line) for a few years now. As there can be a lot involved in doing this, it seemed like a good idea to gather what I have learned and make it available for the benefit of anyone else who may be looking to collect a live performance or two. After all, whilst it is nice to have lots of polished studio recordings to listen to, there is nothing quite like the atmosphere and spontaneity of a live performance!
So I'll point you in the direction of some of the places where you can find live recordings and tell you about the software you can use to listen to, manage, and burn your live recordings to CD. I'll also try and give some pointers as to trading etiquette and rules, as well as posting a list of the recordings that I have collected (and would be happy to trade).
